Boat House

The Boat House was built in 1928 as a garage and boat house for the Bureau of Reclamation employees who were building the Owyhee Dam. It was used for a long time as a garage, shop, and boat house after the completion of the Owyhee Dam.

In 2016 the building was renovated into a rental cabin, which is now called the Boat House.  The renovation took many hours to complete from demolition, framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, finish work, and flooring.

Many donations were received from guests & visitors to be able to complete this project.  We are very grateful for all the donations contributed by guests of the Owyhee Dam Cabins.

The Boat House is a beautiful 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin that has a lot to offer with oak kitchen cabinets, a master bedroom with a queen size & a twin size bed, a fully furnished kitchen with appliances, a dining area for six, a living room with couch and recliner, a 2nd bedroom with 2 bunk-beds, ceiling fans, quiet heaters, air conditioning, propane  BBQ, picnic tables, and a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the outdoors of the Owyhee River Canyon.
